NARROW RESORT

京都町家这种建筑样式，为满足人们在繁华城市中营造丰富精神生活这一需求，占地面积虽然不大，但采用和积累了许许多多的创意及美学哲理。然而，町家建筑随着时间流转正在不断减少，Tawara庵能保持如此完好的样式实为难能可贵。

我们希望能把这栋贵重的传统京都町家建筑演变成可在其中玩乐一整天的空间。我们提议把这里作为每天只接待一组客人的别墅式酒店，酒店中配备常驻型的私人管家与私人厨师，为下榻的客人提供独一无二的服务。

Tawara庵进门后可看到一条纵深细长的“通庭”（走廊般细长的、无需脱鞋就可来往的硬泥地空间），各间房间与庭院都交错有致地配置在通庭两侧。我们将充分利用这个硬泥地空间，将其采光功能调动起来，使得每个房间和庭院都能收获各种富有日本美学特征的自然光影。

在各个观光胜地游玩一天，回到住宿之处后匆匆洗漱入睡，虽可谓很常见的酒店利用方式。但是Tawara庵将在这一栋宝贵的传统町家建筑里提供截然不同的价值，将注力营造能在其中享受丰盛时光的流逝，能为下榻客人带来精神充实时刻的空间。

A “Narrow Resort “

“Kyoto Machiyas” are ancient Japanese houses designed for luxurious living within a small plot of land in the heart of Kyoto City. They are known for the embodiment of multiple sense of beauty, designed to curate a variety of experience within limited space. Unfortunately, Machiyas have been vanishing over the years, and “Tawara-an” is one extremely rare example where most of the characteristics of a Kyoto Machiya had been preserved.

The “Tawara-an” site is narrow and deep, with multiple rooms and courtyards placed adjacent to one another, connected by an elongated corridor courtyard. Taking advantage of such unique spatial composition, we wanted to give each space a distinctive character that suggests a certain part of “Japanese Nature”, exemplifying the Japanese aesthetics of colors and shadows.

We propose to transform this well-preserved Machiya into a collective spatial experience, choreographed for guests to enjoy anytime of the day. It will be a resort for one group of guests, equipped with a private chef and butler, providing exclusive services that will be unique to this narrow and yet abundant resort. The guests can choose to spend their time freely in any given space at any given time, enjoying the connection between the space and nature’s timeless beauty,
